My Experience
QuantumBlack is McKinsey's data science, AI, ML, and analytics group, working on problems in industries from manufacturing to Formula One racing. As a Data Science Fellow, my role is part consultant, part software engineer, part statistician.
I spent the summer of 2020 as an intern on the Facebook News team in New York City. Well, technically it was in Toronto because all internships were remote that summer (something to do with a global pandemic). I analyzed massive datasets and built beautiful data visualizations to better understand the news producer ecosystem across Facebook.
Dalberg Data Insights (DDI) works with governments, non-profits, and social enterprises around the world (especially Sub-Saharan Africa) to help extract value for society from data. In my summer there, I worked with satellite data to build a machine learning model that could identify cashew farms from the sky and predict their annual yield, aiding local governments with food security surveillance.

What I do in my spare time
Debating
I debated with the Hart House Debating Club at the University of Toronto for four years, where I competed at the World Championships three times, made it to the finals of the Cambridge Debating Championships, and was 7th speaker at the North American Debating Championships
Music
I never travel anywhere without a guitar if I can help it. I love playing classical Spanish music, jazz, fingerstyle, and I even sing from time to time.
TEDx
I love TED talks so much that I was the head of speaker curation at TEDxUofT (University of Toronto), where I found and coached speakers from tenured professors to undergrads.
Latin dancing
I'm definitely not a pro, but I love Salsa and Bachata dancing enough to want to tell others about it here.
